Dr Nico WaltersNico Walters, MBA, PhD, a specialist in intellectual property and strategy, previously Group Executive with the MRC. He has fields of experience include the public sector, health and pharmaceutical fields and developing multi-sectorial public - private partnerships. His client base has included Department of Health, Agricultural Research Council, CSIR, Pretoria City Council, SANDF, Department of Trade and Industry and the MRC. Nico's personal core competencies include strategy, business development systems, marketing, technology strategy and management, and performance and knowledge management. He has several board appointments that include the National Laser Institute and the WHO, and Medical Investments. He was recent advisor to the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. |

Dr Glen MansfieldGlen Mansfield, is the founder of the Strategy Institute. He has been advising and assisting businesses in the fields of strategy and technology since the early 1980s. He recently completed a PhD at Stellenbosch University researching strategies developed by South African "new-economy" firms. His consulting and project management engagements have involved work in Africa, South America and the UK. His local clients have included the Sure Travel Group, the Medical Research Council, BP Southern Africa, BMW and Sanlam. His prior management experience includes senior consulting, strategy and marketing positions with KPMG, CSIR, First National Bank and others. He has served on the boards of several companies. In addition to his management skills, Glen sees himself as a strategy evangelist. His research has shown that there are definitely better ways to run businesses in today's economy. This is the background to his formation of this Institute. |
